Where the money actually goes
Most of the total sits in a handful of items. The rest barely moves it.
What you do not pay for
Midwife care, the dating scan, the 13-week scan and the 20-week scan are covered by basic Dutch health insurance, and pregnancy care does not come out of your excess (eigen risico). Maternity care at home (kraamzorg) is covered apart from a small contribution per hour. Scans you book yourself, such as an early scan or a 3D one, you pay for.
