The dating scan (termijnecho)
An ultrasound at around week 10 that measures the baby and fixes how far along you are. This is the scan that sets your official due date, which matters because your maternity leave and every screening appointment are counted from it. Checked against deverloskundige.nl on 22 September 2026.

What else to know
Your midwife arranges it, at the practice, a recognised echo centre or a hospital. You pay nothing for it, and pregnancy care does not come out of your insurance excess (eigen risico).
