Book the hospital and put down the deposit
Private hospitals ask you to book the delivery and pay a deposit some months ahead, and popular obstetricians fill up. Your doctor will tell you which hospitals they deliver at; the delivery package covers the ward and the standard stay, with the doctor's and anaesthetist's fees on top. Book antenatal classes
Hospitals and private groups run antenatal courses covering labour, pain relief, feeding and the first weeks; KKH's programme is open to anyone, not only its own patients. The classes fill early and they are the easiest way to meet other parents due at the same time, which matters more when your own family is a flight away. Decide on a confinement nanny, and sort her work permit early
A confinement nanny lives in for the first 28 days after the birth, cooks, and looks after the baby at night. It is a Singapore institution and expat families use it too. Checked against mom.gov.sg on 21 September 2026.
