Book the hospital and put down the deposit

Private hospitals ask you to book the delivery and pay a deposit some months ahead, and popular obstetricians fill up. Your doctor will tell you which hospitals they deliver at; the delivery package covers the ward and the standard stay, with the doctor's and anaesthetist's fees on top. What else to know

Ask for the estimated bill for a normal delivery and a caesarean in the room class you want, in writing, so the cash-flow plan is built on a real number rather than a brochure. In the public hospitals the delivery charge for foreigners is set by ward class in the same way.
