Childcare leave: 2 days a year for a non-citizen child
Once you are back at work, the Employment Act gives each parent 2 days of paid childcare leave a year while the child is under 7, if you have served your employer for at least 3 months. Checked against mom.gov.sg on 22 September 2026.

What else to know
Parents of a Singapore citizen child get 6 days a year each, until the year the child turns 7, regardless of how many children you have. It is per parent, not per child, and it does not carry over, so put it in the calendar. There is a lifetime cap as well as an annual one: childcare leave under the Child Development Co-Savings Act is capped at 42 days for each citizen child, and 14 days for a non-citizen child.
