The 42 days after a birth in Singapore: register, passport, pass
A baby born to two foreigners gets a Special Pass that lasts 42 days from birth. In that window you register the birth on LifeSG, get a passport from your own embassy, and have your employer apply for a Dependant's Pass. Get the baby a passport from your own country
A baby born in Singapore is Singaporean only if a parent is a citizen; for everyone else the child needs a passport from your own country, and the Special Pass only lasts 42 days. Contact your embassy or high commission before the birth to find out what they need — usually the digital birth certificate, both parents' passports, your marriage certificate and photos of the baby — and how long they take. Apply for the baby's Dependant's Pass before the Special Pass runs out
Once the passport exists, your employer applies to the Ministry of Manpower for a Dependant's Pass for the baby, in the same way as for a spouse. It has to be in before the 42-day Special Pass expires; staying past it is an offence under the Immigration Act. Checked against mom.gov.sg on 21 September 2026.

Book the baby's jabs and check-ups
The first two vaccines, BCG and hepatitis B, are given in the hospital at birth and recorded in the health booklet you take home. The rest of the National Childhood Immunisation Schedule starts at 2 months and runs through the first 18 months. Checked against healthhub.sg on 22 September 2026.
