Baby Bonus and the Child Development Account, if the baby is a citizen
This one is for citizen children only, and citizenship comes from a parent, not from being born here: if neither of you is a Singapore citizen, none of it applies and you can skip this step. For a Singapore citizen child with at least one citizen parent, the Baby Bonus is S$11,000 in cash for a first or second child, paid in instalments until the child is six and a half, plus a Child Development Account opened with a S$5,000 First Step grant and dollar-for-dollar matching of what you save into it. What else to know
You enrol through LifeSG when you register the birth. A child who is not a citizen at birth gets nothing from it, though benefits can be paid from the month the child becomes one.
