The 20-week scan (20 wekenecho)
A detailed ultrasound that checks how the baby is developing physically. Like the earlier screening it is offered, not required, and you pay nothing for it. Checked against pns.nl on 22 September 2026.

What else to know
It happens between week 18 and week 21, ideally at 19 weeks, so book it through your midwife in good time. If it leads to follow-up tests, those can come out of your own risk excess (eigen risico).
