Confirm the hospital booking and pay the deposit

Private hospitals want the booking confirmed and a deposit paid months ahead, and the popular obstetricians deliver at only one or two of them. In the public system a 'booked' case needs 2 things, not one: a confirmed booking for the delivery AND antenatal check-ups done with the HA hospital. Checked against ha.org.hk on 22 September 2026.

What else to know

For a non-eligible person that is the difference between a minimum charge of HK$74,000 and one of HK$130,000, so make sure both halves are in place rather than assuming the check-ups are enough. Get the estimated total for a normal delivery and a caesarean in your room class in writing, so the budget rests on a number rather than a brochure.
